Cammy Palonino (left) accepts school supplies from Peconic Bay Zonta members Betsy Kaplan (center) and Diane Greenberg for girls, like herself, who are enrolled in the Butterfly Effect Project (BEP) in Riverhead, NY.
BEP is a nonprofit, community-based organization that helps girls develop self-confidence and prepares them for academic success. Kaplan purchased the supplies, which include binders and loose-leaf paper, notebooks, paste, pens and erasers on behalf of Peconic Bay Zonta, which donated the supplies. Peconic Bay Zonta is affiliated with Zonta International which works to empower women and girls worldwide through service and advocacy.
