Cheese & Wine Tasting Fundraiser: Fun and Successful!

Hosted by the Cheese & Spice Market at East Wind Shoppes in Wading River, guests at Peconic Bay Zonta’s recent fundraiser were treated to dozens of delicious artisanal and farmstead cheeses, savory charcuterie and accompaniments, and a selection of fine wines from the North Fork’s Marcari Vineyards. The evening was fun and successful, as we raised almost $500 from the sale of tickets and a raffle. Peconic Bay raises money to support scholarships for local girls and women.

Another East Wind store, Wines by Nature, donated a basket of wine for the auction, the Cheese & Spice Market donated gourmet coffee, and Marcari Vineyards donated a tasting for two at their winery in Mattituck.

In the photo above, Lisa Burton (center), Zonta District 3's Area 1 Director, joined us for the evening and gave a brief talk about Zonta International’s mission and activities. Pictured with her are Peconic Bay Zonta President Diane Greenberg (left) and club member Liala Strotman, who serves as Peconic Bay's United Nations Liaison.
