Announcing the 2023 Zonta Women in STEM Scholarship


The Zonta International Women in STEM Scholarship program encourages women to pursue education, career opportunities and leadership roles in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. A single applicant from each of Zonta’s 31 districts worldwide and one region (Region South America) will receive an award of $5,000 US from Zonta International in 2023.


The application process starts at the club level. The Zonta Club of Peconic Bay is now accepting applications. Peconic Bay Zonta’s deadline is June 15, 2023.


Peconic Bay Zonta will choose one applicant to submit to Zonta District 3 by July 15, 2023. District 3 will choose one from among all club applicants and submit that applicant to Zonta International for the $5,000 award.


Peconic Bay’s chosen applicant will receive a $300 stipend.


Eligibility


Women of any age and nationality, pursuing a STEM degree program at an accredited university/college/institute, who demonstrate outstanding potential in their field of study and are living or studying in a Zonta district/region, are eligible.


Students must be enrolled in at least the second year of an undergraduate program through the final year of a master's program at the time the application is submitted to Peconic Bay Zonta. Applicants must be in school at the time the scholarship funds are disbursed and must not graduate before April 2024.

Note: The Zonta Club of Peconic Bay is in Zonta District 3, which has 25 clubs in six states and Washington, D.C. Peconic Bay Zonta is located in Suffolk County, NY. It encompasses the eastern end of Long Island, including the townships of Brookhaven, East Hampton, Riverhead (county seat), Shelter Island, Southampton and Southold.
