Peconic Bay Packs Weekend Food for Kids
On May 14, 2024, members and friends of Peconic Bay Zonta filled 500 backpacks with food for the weekend for children living in the Longwood School District, which serves Medford, Gordon Heights, Shirley, Ridge and Coram. The activity was a service project for Peconic Bay, which works hand in hand with Blessings in a Backpack to ensure the health and well-being of children in need. Blessings in a Backpack is national organization that provides food on the weekends for school-aged children across America who might otherwise go hungry.
