Stats on Human Trafficking

This is a follow up to Peconic Bay Zonta's report on the human trafficking session we organized on October 27, 2015 (scroll down to previous post). Speaker Patricia Latona, Zonta International United Nations Committee, showed the film "Not My Life" and led the discussion.

All 50 states in the U.S. report human trafficking. Rates are particularly high in California, Texas, Florida and New York.

Labor trafficking occurs in a wide variety of industries:
  • restaurants
  • bars
  • hotels
  • agriculture
  • construction
  • traveling sales crews
Sex trafficking happens here:
  • brothels
  • strip clubs
  • escort and massage services
  • pimp-controlled prostitution
  • on the street
  • on the internet
